About Cupping
This gives the effect of increasing circulation, removing waste products, and reducing muscle spasms and pain.
Cupping treatment involves applying pressure to the skin with cups made of glass, plastic, bamboo or silicone. The suction formed by these cups promotes and enhanced blood flow to the area, which can help to relieve joint and muscle pain, reduce inflammation, expedite healing, improve lymphatic system function and promote general relaxation and wellbeing. It can also help to heal wounds and surrounding tissues.
We offer two types of cupping at Well Life
- Dry Cupping: Involves creating pressure between the cup and the skin to improve blood circulation and decrease pain. No further interventions such as needles or cutting is used.
- Wet cupping: (Also known as Hijama) involves creating little scratch like cuts on the skin and using vacuumed cups to draw out the blood with these cuts.
Conditions this can help with:
- Osteoarthritis
- Areas of poor Qi flow
- Cold conditions
- Joint/ muscular aches and pains
