Expert Care for
Work-related Injuries

At Well Life Physiotherapy, we are committed to helping you understand and manage risk of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) effectively. These can include, but are not limited to:

  • Muscle strain
  • Slips, trips and falls
  • Repetitive strain injuries
  • Impact injuries
  • Cuts and lacerations
  • Vehicle collisions
  • Handling, lifting or carrying injuries
  • Acts of violence
  • Falling objects

Proactive Steps to Prevent and Address MSDs

Your employer has a responsibility to reduce the chances of MSDs, whether caused or worsened by workplace conditions. It is equally important that you participate in risk assessment and management, report any injuries or symptoms promptly, and play an active role in your own safety.

Reporting Incidents and Symptoms

Knowing how to report injuries, pain, or near misses is crucial. Always:

  • Use your workplace’s reporting system and keep copies of any incident forms
  • Know how to access occupational health services—whether through your employer or through Well Life Physiotherapy
  • Ask for guidance from your health and safety representative if you have any questions about the process

Key Dos and Don’ts

Do:

  • Attend manual handling training and offer constructive feedback
  • Raise concerns with colleagues or safety reps if unsafe practices are observed
  • Promptly report injuries, pain, or near misses, and retain your incident records
  • Recognise your limits and prioritise regular breaks
  • Access physiotherapy for assessment and treatment promptly

Don’t:

  • Don’t overlook safety—if you notice a culture of unsafe handling, discuss it within your team and work to promote best practice, especially as a role model for new graduates
  •  Don’t overlook repetitive niggles and strains or near misses. Get them assessed and treated before they worsen or become chronic.

Well Life Physiotherapy are here to answer your queries and help you manage or avoid work related injuries.
